MacMillan Coffee Morning 25th September

Last weekend (14th and 15th September) saw more than 600 people attend our penultimate, Steam Punk themed, Open Weekend of the year. The weather proved to be fair and we welcomed many members of the Steam Punk community, in their wonderful costumes, as well as traders selling a wide variety of items.

Visitors came from locations all over the country: Somerset, Edinburgh, and Barnsley, to name but a few. One couple (and their dog!), visiting from the Netherlands, were looking to relocate to the North East and promised to join as members once they were settled.

Thanks, as usual, to the 40 or so members who made the weekend possible and who are now working to prepare the site for our second MacMillan Coffee Morning on Wednesday 25th September. Our first event, last year, raised £700 for this very worthy cause and we are looking forward to raising even more this year.

If you are available, we will be serving tea, coffee and cakes between 10am and 1pm. We hope to see you there.
