Christmas Fair at Tees Cottage
Last Saturday, 26th November, saw us host our first Christmas Fair at Tees Cottage. On the whole it was a great success with an estimated 600+ visitors attending.
Christmas Express Steam trains were provided by Tees Cottage Miniature Railway, to take the 100 children and their accompanying adults to Santa's grotto and to provide a festive experience.
Twenty-two vendors brought their wares to the site and some did extremely well, selling all their goods before the close of play at 4 o'clock. Some of these have already made provisional bookings for next year!
The Cottage tea room once again did a roaring trade selling cakes and biscuits donated by many of our members.
A special thanks to all those volunteers who have been working so hard to plan the event, and to those who attended the site on Saturday, without whom the Fair could not have happened.
Thanks to Bob Hughes for the photos and finally, a very special thanks to Santa Steve Bays and his two elves, Megan and Annie, who put in an amazing six hour shift, to the delight of 100 children!
